Contractor introduction

Tell me the project. I'll tell you who I'd use.

No directory, no lead auction, no list sold to whoever paid for placement. One or two names I would put on my own house, with the reasons why — and no referral fee accepted from any of them.

How it works

Four steps, and no obligation at any of them.

  1. 01
    You describe the project

Enough detail that I know which trade it is and roughly what scale. Two minutes.

  2. 02
I come back with questions, or with names

Sometimes the honest answer is that the scope needs settling first. If so, I will say that rather than send you to three contractors to figure it out at your expense.

  3. 03
One or two names, with reasons

Why these people, what they are good at, what they are not, and what to ask each of them.

  4. 04
    You hire them directly

Your contract is with the contractor. I am not a party to it, I take no fee from them, and I have no stake in which one you pick — or whether you use either.

  • No referral fee accepted from any contractor
  • Two names, so you are always comparing
  • No obligation to list with me, ever

Request an introduction

Contractors are independent businesses and you contract directly with them. Their WSIB, insurance and licence documentation is supplied by them and is not independently audited by me — an introduction is not a warranty. Your details are used only to respond to this request.

Stated plainly

Vetted is not warranted.

This matters enough to say here rather than in a footer, and it is repeated in the confirmation you receive.

Before the quotes arrive

Know what you are reading.

Whichever contractor you use — mine or your own — the guides cover what a proper quote contains for that trade, what actually drives the price, and the red flags worth walking away from.
